24 Years Experience Serving the
LGBT Community
I have worked in the LGBT community for over 20 years. This experience has taught me many valuable lessons about working with members of our community, especially during challenging times - like when someone needs legal advice or representation. You deserve to work with an attorney who not only understands you and your family, but also has experience serving the LGBT community.
When I first graduated from law school in 1987, I volunteered as a lawyer in San Francisco working with gay men living with HIV/AIDS to create wills, trusts and powers of attorney so that these brave individuals could end their lives with dignity and peace of mind.
As chief of staff to former San Francisco Supervisor Susan Leal in the 1990's, I worked for the first publicly elected, out lesbian Latina in the nation. During that time, I worked extensively with members of the LGBT community and the Castro District and Noe Valley neighborhoods to solve a wide variety of problems and to access many city resources and programs for community members. Currently, I am a member of the LGBT Advisory Committee of the San Francisco Human Rights Commission and am active in the Advisory Committee's Senior Issues Work Group.
During the past 12 years as a development executive at significant social service organizations like Project Open Hand and Jewish Family and Children's Services, I have worked with many members of the LGBT community to create estate plans including wills, trusts and other philanthropic vehicles that leave a living legacy of kindness and support.
With a background of 24 years in law, government and nonprofit management, I am eager to put this experience to work for you. Please ask about a free initial consultation.
